Stolen from Brain McGee as he said is so well.
As many of you have heard, Tiger passed away Last Sunday.
As pool has grown rapidly over the last 10 years in Reno, many shooters have never met Tiger, know that he doesn't just own the bar Tiger Tom's, but was one of us. He was a pool player. Played in a few leagues for many years. Over the last 10 years he played less and less but still would stop into any number of places to visit with the old school bartenders, say hello to owners of old Reno pubs and watering holes, or have a drink with the shooters on the tables.
Tiger was probably the most generous bar owner to pool players this city has seen. Not that the current owners aren't great to us. Most are. But Tiger has hosted countless tournaments, personally fed or cooked for league nights, opened up his bar for anyone's special event or a charity event, and given back any chance he could. And he's been that way since Tiger Tom's first opened its doors.
At this time the Celebration Of Life is scheduled for July 4th (Tiger's 75th Birthday).
